Jenn Jansen

Artistic practice grounded in attention, material research, and long-form inquiry

STUDIO HANDCRÆFT / JENN JANSEN

Jenn Jansen is an interdisciplinary textile artist and writer based in Drenthe, in the northern Netherlands. Her practice unfolds in the space between inner experience and the living world, where making becomes a way to explore connection, orientation, and meaning. Working primarily with repurposed and thrifted cloth alongside locally sourced plants and pigments, she approaches materials as relational partners in an ongoing inquiry-through which care, observation, and transformation are practiced over time. While shaped by the rhythms and textures of the northern landscape, her work does not originate in place itself, but in a sustained inquiry into how relationship-to self, material, and environment-can be consciously cultivated. Through iterative processes of making, writing, and documentation, she traces how meaning emerges through attention, repetition, and responsiveness.
